Its important to connect with other writers since it can be a very solitary profession, but you need to research your groups, either those available online or those where you meet in person, carefully, then choose the ones that seem right for you. Some are excellent and some are very poor, but you have to find that out for yourself, of course. A group I may recommend, another writer might find totally useless and ones that have been recommended to me I have found to be very disappointing.
