Last episode, I mentioned The Action Pack Podcast. Everything is just about ready for release. The first episodes of each of the three stories have been writen and recorded for the podcast and the scripts have been sent in for the eBooks. The website, www.actionpackpodcast.com, even has teasers for you to read. We’re all getting pretty excited to see and hear the first episode.

I’ve also been making some good headway in my GalaxyBillies edits AND JR Murdock and I have the second book in our collaboration series about half-way plotted out. We’re just finishing the final edits on the first book so we can send it out to our Alpha readers.

All that and I expect to see the final edits for Mik Murdoch, Boy Superhero any day now. Lots of great stuff to share with you all.

In this episode, my special guest and I talk about anthologies. As you may know, Jeffrey Hite and I have are co-editing an anthology called A Method to the Madness: A Guide to the Super Evil. I thought it would be fun if we talked about the anthology, how it came to be and what we have learned thus far.

I’m also delighted to have my friend and co-author, JR Murdock, do another Unorthodox Writing Tips for us. This episode he talks about visualizing the places you have been and how it can help your writing.

That’s the lineup for today. I hope you enjoy the show.

Last episode I mentioned a new project I’m working on with Jeffrey Hite. We are co-editing an Anthology I’ve referred to as the Mad Scientist Handbook. Well, the big news is, Five Rivers Publishing has agreed to take the project on. I believe this is going to be their first non-Canadian project.  Jeff and I have renamed the book to A Method to the Madness: A Guide to the Super Evil.

Submissions are open and you can find more information at madscientistanthology.wordpress.com.

I’ve also finished writing the first episode of Boy Scouts of the Apocalypse for The Action Pack Podcast. The first Action Pack episode along with the accompanying eBook will be available at the end of February. We have a website now, www.actionpackpodcast.com, which we will be developing over the course of the next few weeks.

In the Tips and Typos section of today’s show, Scott Roche tells us about his current cross-promotional project, 52-weeks-of-indie. He talks about what the promotion is, why he is doing it and how you can find out more.

I’m also talking to Zach Ricks, the Managing Editor for Flying Island Press, about digital rights.

That’s the lineup for today. I hope you enjoy the show.

I’ve been curious about screenwriting and just how a writer can make it in Hollywood. Can screenwriters work outside Los Angeles and be successful? I was able to ask these questions and many more when I talked to Jennifer White who is a screenwriter, tagline writer and novelist.

I am also happy to have JRMurdock do another of his Unorthodox Writing Tips. In today’s show he talks about paying attention.

I also wanted to briefly talk about a couple of new projects I’m working on that you may or may not be aware of. The first, of these is the Mad Scientist Handbook that you have likely heard a promo for on previous episodes of the show. The Handbook is what I’m calling a pseudo-anthology. It is going to be a tongue-in handbook for the wannabe Super-villain. Picture Dr. Evil as a boy and what he would read as he tries to take over the world. Submissions are now open and you can find more information at madscientistanthology.wordpress.com.

The second project that is scheduled to kick off on February 29th is the Action Pack Podcast. I am working on this project with Scott Roche, AKA spiritualtramp on Twitter, and my writing partner, JRMurdock who you will hear later in the show.

We’re all pretty excited about this one. In this monthly podcast we will each be writing a serialized story. That’s three distinct stories, a portion of which you will hear each and every month until they are done. All three stories will be in every episode. We will also be putting them out in an e-Book pulp version each month through Flying Island Press. For my story, I will finally be writing Boy Scouts of the Apocalypse. We have music and artwork all lined up and I know it’s going to be awesome. I cannot wait to share the first episode with you all.

Those are a couple of the newest projects on the go. Lots to finish up so I can get submitting some new stuff too. I would love to hear about your projects. Drop me a line to tell me what’s going on in 2012 for you and I will pimp your upcoming work in a future episode’s Tips and Typos.

That’s the lineup for today. I hope you enjoy the show.
