I’ve been on the road a fair amount the past few weeks and I have learned that the tools you use are critical to your creative success. There are plenty of applications that will allow you to stay in touch with home and keep your writing and podcasting moving forward. Things like Dropbox, Google docs, Skype and Logmein can really help.

In today’s episode, Jeffrey Hite and I talk about the progress of our anthology, A Method to the Madness: A Guide to the Super Evil. We talk about the challenges, what has worked and what we have accomplished.

JR Murdock also has another Unorthodox Writing Tips in the Tips and Typos. He discusses some tricks you can use to give more depth to your characters.

That’s today’s episode. I hope you enjoy it.

I have been talking about my upcoming debut novel, Mik Murdoch, Boy Superhero for months now and it is now about to be released. The actual release date is scheduled for August 1, 2012.

I thought it would be nice to share some of the book I’ve worked so hard to bring to you. So today, instead of an interview, you will be getting a reading of chapter 1 by me.

I’m also very lucky to have another Unorthodox Writing Tip from JRMurdock. This time he talks about the fact that he doesn’t know what you know.

That’s today’s episode. I hope you enjoy it.

When I went to World Fantasy Convention in October, one of my goals was to line up some guests for the show. I didn’t really expect to get too many in person interviews because the convention is pretty busy and everyone is trying to get as much in as they can.

I did manage two in person interviews. The first, which I’m going to share with you today, is with Michael Stackpole. Mike is one of the big e-vangelists in the industry for self e-publishing.

He has a ton of great things to say. Unfortunately, there weren’t many quiet places to comfortably talk at. In this case, we had some construction across the street so you get a lot of background noise that I wasn’t able to filter out. Joining us is JR Murdock, my collaboration partner in the YA Steampunk we are writing.

And speaking of JR Murdock, JR does a blog post called “Unorthodox Writing Tips”. He agreed to provide one in audio form for the tips and typos section in today’s show.

That’s the lineup for today. I hope you enjoy the show.
